JAIME MALET, Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Spain, is a business leader with a strong background in international relations. He is the founder and CEO of 32 Telam, a Spanish consulting firm providing strategic advice and actionable guidance to large multinationals, fast growth companies and investment funds in transportation, energy, IT and finance doing business worldwide. The company is associated with 32 Advisors; a global advisory firm established in New York City specialized in large complex cross border transactions and foreign direct investment. Mr. Malet is also senior advisor of CISCO Systems for Latin America. Likewise, he is a member of the International Advisory Board of APCO Worldwide, one of the largest global communication firms headquartered in Washington DC. As Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Spain (AmChamSpain), an elected position he has held for over a decade, he works to improve the business climate and strengthen the trade relations between the US and Spain. During his tenure, Mr. Malet has played a crucial role in improving economic and political relations between the two countries and leading advocacy efforts in competitiveness and economic growth. The aggregated turnover in Spain of all AmchamSpain’s member companies is over 24% of Spain’s GDP, creating more than 1 million of Spanish jobs. He is member of the Advisory Board of the Spanish Federation of Businesses (CEOE) and of other Companies’ and non-profit organizations’ boards. Mr. Malet earned a Juris Doctor degree at the University of Barcelona and a Master of Laws (LLM) at the University of Houston. He also holds an Executive Program of Business Administration (PADE) from the University of Navarra’s IESE and a Master of Tax Law from Ramon Llull University’s ESADE Business School. He started his career at Arthur Andersen and practiced corporate, international and M&A law in his own medium size firm during more than 15 years before starting his successful business career. Mr. Malet works in Madrid and Barcelona, where he resides with his wife Silvia and their two children.
