Ferring in Russia
2010 marked the 15th anniversary of the opening of the Russian representation of Ferring Pharmaceuticals.
Ferring has enjoyed rapid growth and expansion on the Russian market. Since 2009, regional expansion was declared a strategic priority for our company. We feel that we have sufficient capacity to implement regional development programs. At the moment, Ferring is developing its plans to cover cities with 10-million-plus inhabitants.
Over the years Ferring Russia has worked in three therapeutic areas: gynecology, urology and gastroenterology. The company is actively considering launching its own production of drugs in Russia.
Throughout the past 15 years, the company has developed partnership programs with IVF centers. Ferring Pharmaceuticals’ mission is to support infertile couples in Russia. There are about 5 million such couples seeking treatment, and hoping to achieve the birth of a child. Thanks to the drug Menopur®, widely used in our IVF programs in the last 15 years, more than 35,000 children have been born in Russia.
Another key priority of Ferring Russia is to highlight the problem of primary nocturnal enuresis (PNE). This disorder is by far undertreated, although in Russia it affects about 1 million children.
