Company description

Baker & McKenzie was the first international law firm to open an office in Moscow in 1989. Since then we have built a reputation as an experienced and reliable legal adviser, combining deep knowledge of local law with seamless execution across borders and practices.

We are one of the largest and strongest legal teams in Russia, and our antitrust, dispute resolution, employment, mergers and acquisitions, tax, real estate, and intellectual property practices are consistently ranked among the country’s leading. Our offices in Moscow and St. Petersburg have more than 120 qualified lawyers combined, including nearly 30 partners providing sophisticated legal advice to leading Russian and international corporations, banks and financial institutions.

Since opening our Moscow office in 1989, the research based pharmaceuticals industry has looked to us for legal support and advice in Russia and across the CIS. We have assisted in the foundation of the Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (AIPM) and served as its legal advisers for 15 years. We have also acted as outside counsel to the Healthcare Committee of the European Business Association of Ukraine, and to the association of multinational research based pharmaceutical manufacturers PRADA in Ukraine.

We received an award from the Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers 2009 for our Outstanding Contribution to the Development of the Legal Organized Open Market for Pharmaceuticals in Russia.
