The Chamber of Deputies, in the Italian political system, is one of the two legislative bodies, or rooms, along with the Senate, which constitute the Italian Parliament. From 1861 to 1946 there existed the Chamber of Deputies of the Kingdom of Italy, except for a brief period between 1939 and 1943, when it changed its name to Chamber of Fasci and Corporations. The two houses of Parliament are related according to a perfect bicameral system, that is held in equal degree the same functions, although separately.
