The Austrian subsidiary of Eli Lilly was founded in June 1976. In total, nearly 190 employees are working in different sectors in Vienna. Vienna is a central hub and platform for international research activities; around 50 people are working in the Regional Medical Center.

Lilly Bio-Medicines comprise the largest of Lilly’s five business areas in terms of sales, and account for nearly half of Lilly’s mid-to-late stage pipeline assets. This business unit is unique in that it focuses on multiple therapeutic areas.
