Ibrahim Etem Ulugay, founded in 1903, was the first moder pharmaceutical manufacturer in Turkey and introduced modern scientific methodology to the pharmaceutical sector for the first time in Turkey. In 1955 the company became the first antibiotics manufacturer in Turkey, and in 2001 the Italian Menarini Group acquired this historical Turkish company. Today, Ibrahim Etem Menarini, as a member of Menarini Group, is a unique Italian-Turkish company operating in both innovative and generic markets.
