Lonza Biotec sro is part of Lonza, one of the world’s leading suppliers to the pharmaceutical, healthcare and life science industries. In 2011, the company had sales of CHF 2.692 billion. Lonza Kouřim is located 45 km east of Prague, in the central bohemian region of the Czech Republic. The Kouřim production site is focused on microbial fermentation and custom manufacturing services for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and nutrition industries. Both flexible and full-service, the cGMP production facilities and R&D staff in Kouřim can take customer product from process development and validation to large-scale commercial manufacture (up to 75m3), including chromatography, lyophilization, etc. The plant is a highly advanced technical level and re-certified and registered with a number of prominent Czech and international institutions (ISO 9001:2008, Czech State Office for Drug Control SIDC and the U.S. Office for Drug Control – FDA). Lonza Kouřim employs 380 people.
