P-BIO – Portugal’s Biotechnology Industry Organization is the country’s leading association of life science companies. P-BIO’s members make up most of the Biotechnology sector in Portugal and include both start-up ventures and established multinationals, dedicated to a range of activities from drug development and regenerative medicine to industrial processes and R&D advisory services. With the mission of promoting biotechnology and its role in economic growth, P-BIO acts as a facilitator between its members and the Government, State agencies, the academic community, the media, other industries and the general public. P-BIO has recently created a work group on rare diseases and orphan drugs – a topic to which the association has been paying close attention in recent months.
