pitdc-logo-1.jpgIn order to strengthen the medical and pharmaceutical industry to meet the need for short-, medium-, and long-term development, to elevate the overall industrial performance, and to achieve globalization, the Pharmaceutical Industry Technology Development Center (PITDC) was established by the government to execute the resolution of the 4th National Science and Technology Conference  in 1991.

Mr. Chiu-Sheng Liu, the Chairman of U-Liang Pharmaceutical Company initiated an endowment for a total of NTD 60 million in which NTD 20 million was sponsored by the Industrial Development Bureau (IDB), Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). The domestic pharmaceutical industry donated the remainder. MOEA officially approved the founding of the Center on January 15, 1993.

PITDC was renamed as Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry Technology and Development Center in 2004, in line with the changes of industrial environment, the demand for quality of life, and the development of medical equipment and devices. Thereafter, the Center expanded its service scope towards building a communication platform for the integration of resources from industry, government, academia and research institutes to effectively improve overall technology levels of the medical and pharmaceutical industry. The ultimate mission is to cultivate key technology platform, upgrading the industry and internationalization.
