Octapharma Italy S.p.A. was established in Pisa on July 8th 2008. Previously, Octapharma Group distributed its products through third companies, and since the beginning the decision was made to start off with a streamlined structure covering only the essential functions able to guarantee the company’s start-up, outsourcing all other staff functions.

The current structure is composed of the following functions: the Managing Director and his Staff, Regulatory Affairs Compliance & Logistics, Tender Office, Customer Care, Administration & Finance, and Key Accounts.

The core business, according to the whole Octapharma Group, are: medical liaison, registration, clinical research and marketing of human proteins for therapeutic use in the following areas: Haematology, Immunotherapy, Intensive care and Urgency medicine. In a market like the Italian one, distinguished as it is by the absolute prevalence of regional tenders, and characterized by the strong presence of a Self Sufficiency Program (SSP), the main activities of Octapharma Italy S.p.A. are participation in tenders, customer care, the development of projects on the territory including participation in the more relevant congresses, efficient and where possible innovative logistics, together with product availability.

In 2015 Octapharma Italy S.p.A. was accredited to bid for the tenders issued in the framework of the Self Sufficiency Program and this could open interesting future perspectives for the company.
