Founded in 1908, LEO Pharma is an independent, research-based pharmaceutical company, wholly owned by The LEO Foundation and is headquartered in Ballerup, Denmark, outside of Copenhagen. Following its mission, the company helps people achieve healthy skin by offering care solutions to patients and supporting people in managing their skin conditions.
LEO Pharma develops, manufactures and markets pharmaceutical drugs to dermatologic and thrombotic patients in more than 100 countries globally. To realize our vision of becoming the preferred dermatology care partner improving people’s lives around the world, we are expanding into new regions and markets, reaching more patients with drugs and therapies that address unmet medical needs. LEO Pharma has its own sales forces in 61 countries and employs around 4,800 employees worldwide. The Italian affiliate, lead Paolo Cionini, is based in Rome and has been opened in January 2012 with 80 employees among office based and sales force, distributing in our Country topical products for the treatment of psoriasis, skin infections and actinic keratosis. LEO Pharma Italy is characterized by an agile and flexible organization that gives us plenty of opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration across the entire company and for international, scientific networks which constantly work to optimize the synergies of a global company.
