David Peña Castillo is the President and founder of The Mexican Federation of Rare Diseases (FEMEXER) -- a non-governmental alliance of patient organizations led by patients representing 64 organizations of patients with rare diseases in Mexico, covering more than 40 conditions. "I am the father of two wonderful people with Gaucher disease. I'm driven by passion, courage and determination to help them first, and then others finding their treatment thru the labyrinth of the Mexican health system. FEMEXER and Proyecto Pide un Deseo México are two important efforts in this direction, and I'm the proud leader of that."
