ANALYST, UNITED STATES, EURASIA GROUP

Having served as a political appointee during two previous US administrations, Sandra Yamin Namoos provides Eurasia clients with a thorough understanding of the functioning of the executive branch and its relationship with Congress.

During former President Barack Obama's administration, Sandra worked in the Treasury Department's Office of Legislative Affairs as deputy to then-Assistant Secretary Kim Wallace (who currently leads Eurasia Group's US coverage). She managed a 16-member staff, oversaw legislative proposals and policy initiatives, and shared Wallace's views with senior policy officials and congressional staff. During Bill Clinton's administration, she was a legislative analyst in the Executive Office of the President for Office of Management and Budget under then-Director Jack Lew. In this role, Sandra coordinated the clearance process for the Statement of Administration Policy, interacting with senior policymakers to ensure it reflected the administration's official position on major legislation. She also spent five years at Lehman Brothers as an equity research analyst on the Policy Risk Strategy team.

She earned a bachelor's degree in political science and psychology, as well as a master's degree in political science, from Case Western Reserve University in her hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. Sandra loves historical fiction and rarely misses her book club dinner.
