The top 20 pharmaceutical companies in the world for the past year, according to Pharmaceutical Executive's latest annual rankings. Pfizer holds sway at the top of the leaderboard, with its BioNTech-partnered COVID-19 vaccine Comirnaty still generating an incredible USD 37.8 billion in 2022 and its COVID-19 antiviral Paxlovid adding a further USD 18.9 billion in its first year on the market. Other top performers include AbbVie (#2) whose Humira posted its largest yearly output ever at USD 21.2 billion, and J&J (#3) whose prescription drug revenue for 2022 eclipsed the USD 50 billion mark for the first time.
