France is a major investor in Hungary whose presence has multiplied by 3 between 2001 and 2011. Present in 15 years in Hungary, some 400 French investors account sustainable actors, reliable, contributing to the modernization of the Hungarian economy and employing nearly 52,000 Hungarians.
France took part in the development of the Hungarian economy since the transition in 1989. The first major French investors (EDF, GDF Suez, Sanofi) on the Hungarian market are present for many years and the place of France in Hungary s is continuously strengthened over the past fifteen years.
Despite the uncertain economic environment, the overall number of French investors is not in decline. One can even find significant new investments like the new Lafarge cement plant or expansion of the activity of Bonduelle. Central Europe remains an area with development potential, attractive for French companies, with Hungary in the heart of this area.
