To establish Serbia as a country recognizable by its market economy, open borders, a country prepared to compete on the global and European market, represents its national interest. These are the foundations on which the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, as a leading business association of economic entities, with over 100 000 members and 150 long tradition, basses its essential commitment.
Through strategic and educative activities the Chamber dispelled the prejudice with the businesses about the internationalization of the domestic market. However, they know very well that the domestic enterprises are protected by the SCC so as the economy of Serbia could easily solve the inherited problems and finish the transition process.
We take active part in increasing the competitiveness of the Serbian economy and actively work on the competitive and export-oriented economy representing new process of the reindustrialization which should change the structure of the Serbian economy. We do our best to establish the developing bank which should stimulate the business activities and export-oriented production. We do turn to the project business in the international programs, creating the strategic partnership.
Taking active part in the European and international business integration means the thorough economic reforms in the country. Inspired by the positive experiences from the sittings of the European Parliament of Enterprises within the association of European Chambers, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce initiated, in collaboration with the Serbian National Assembly, the organization of the first sitting of the Serbian Parliament of Enterprises, on 3rd of June 2011, with a view to establishing the dialogue with the representatives of the legislative and executive authority, who create the strategies, policies and laws for the business climate, and to defining the basses of the sustainable action plans for the economic development of Serbia.
In the previous year the Serbian Chamber of Commerce organized 38 international visits of the Serbian delegation, out of which 13 were the state official delegations. Our country was visited by 26 international business or state-economic delegations.
The Serbian Chamber of Commerce is an active member of the international and regional organizations and associations as follows: MTK, Eurochambres, CECCI, ASCAME, BSEC and ABC. In this year and in 2012 Serbia will hold the presidency of Adriatic-Ionian Initiative, Central European Initiative and BSEC. A part of these activities will be entrusted to the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and will be realized through a series of forums, seminars, roundtables, trade fairs and others.
The strategic objectives of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce are based on the quality policy and are realized through the tight cooperation with its eight representative offices abroad located in: the Russian Federation, Belgium, Italy, Austria, German, France, Ukraine and Montenegro.
